List of Firefox Add-ons to help you Saves Time (Episode #1)

Firefox has tons of extensions that enhance the functionality of the browser. You can saves your time while you are surfing the net. The 11 Firefox Add-ons listed below is my recommendations to help you saves your time that will keep you focused on your time management.

1. ObamaFox

Instant access to Barack Obama and US Election ‘08 news, blogs, and campaign updates in your browser. Just click the small Obama icon in the bottom right corner of your browser and get the latest Obama and Election ‘08 news from your favorite news sources. Choose from 18 sources, including the Obama HQ Blog, Google News, CNN, New York Times, Eyes On Obama, Digg, and Twitter. You will also get major campaign updates and action alerts automatically in your browser.

2. URL Fixer

URL Fixer corrects typos in URLs that you enter in the address bar. For example, if you type google.con, it will correct it to google.com (asking first, if you enable confirmation).

It will correct common misspellings of .com, .net, .org, .edu, .gov, .mil, and all other mainstream TLDs, as well as the protocol (http:, https:).

3. Adsense Notifier

Adsense Notifier displays your Adsense earnings on your Firefox status bar. It allows you to easily see your earnings at a glance instead of logging into the Adsense website multiple times a day.

4. ForecastFox

Forecastfox is an extension that brings international weather to your Firefox web browser. You can use your US zip code or you can easily find your town or city by using the built in search tool. It is unobtrusive and lightweight, yet can be customized to display nearly as much data as the leading desktop weather programs.

5. Paste and Go 3

Paste and Go 3 is a Firefox extension that gives you similar functionality in Firefox. It will save you time every day, just copy the link and paste and go immediately.

6. AutoCopy



Do you like the content area context menu item? Autocopy is the time saving way of cutting and pasting text from within Firefox, Mozilla, or Thunderbird. Then try the Autocopy Context Menu. Select some text and up pop ups the Autocopy Context Menu.

7. ColorZilla

With ColorZilla you can get the color without having to guess or play around with an image editor to try to match the color, quickly adjust this color and paste it into another program. You can Zoom the page you are viewing and measure distances between any two points on the page. This is a good add-on if you are trying to build your own website and trying to blend the colors together.

8. Clear Cache Button

Adds a clear cache toolbar button. After installing the extension, find the clear cache button in the toolbar customization panel.

9. FEBE

FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions. In fact, it goes beyondFEBE license plate just backing up — It will actually rebuild your extensions individually into installable .xpi files. Now you can easily synchronize your office and home browsers. FEBE backs up and restores your extensions, themes, and (optionally) your bookmarks, preferences, cookies.

10. TinyUrl Creator

Easy shrink any long URL or link in the page to something you can email or Twitter using the TinyUrl service with a single click in your browser.

11. Clipboard-Save-As



This extension is useful when you have an URL in your clipboard pointing to a file (for example, a movie clip) you want to save to your hard drive. Many times, just pasting the URL in the address bar will lead to Firefox opening it instead of giving you the option to save it. With Clipboard-Save-As, an option is added to the Tools menu that allows you to save the file to your hard drive. Just make sure the URL to the file is in your clipboard and then select Save File from Clipboard.

12. SwitchProxy Tool

SwitchProxy lets you manage and switch between multiple proxy configurations quickly and easily. You can also use it as an anonymizer to protect your computer from prying eyes.

Generate your Website Sitemaps with Google Sitemap Generator

The Google Sitemap Generator service is free for any organization or individual that maintains a website and wishes to make it easier for Google to include their site in Google’s search engine.

This sitemap project has been released to the open source community so that anyone can modify or use it for free.

As this software is open source, you are free to do as you like with it, within the bounds of the Apache Software License V2.

To run this site on your own computer/server, download the distribution below. The only prerequisite is to have Java installed - the installer includes an in-built Jetty servlet container.

2. Enter Website

Enter your website URL. They will handle the rest.

3. Download Sitemap

When your sitemap is complete, you will be notified via email. You may upload your sitemap manually or use PHP or ASP to automate the process.

4 Open Source Games for Preschoolers

Nowadays kids are more to computers than our old times. I see kids now with Mobile Phones, Laptops, PSP and many other electronic and computer stuffs. If you have kids that love playing computer games, PSP ect. Maybe this article is for you.

1. SuperTux

SuperTux is a classic 2D jump’n run sidescroller game in a style similar to the original SuperMario games. The Milestone1 release of SuperTux features 9 enemies, 26 playable levels, software and OpenGL rendering modes, configurable joystick and keyboard input, new music and completly redone graphics. Together with a little story, we hope to provide a good gaming experince with this first Milestone release.

2. SuperTuxKart

SuperTuxKart is a Free 3d kart racing game; we want to make the game fun more than we want to make it realistic. You can play with up to 4 friends on one PC, racing against each other or try to beat the computer. (a network multiplayer feature is under development)

See the great lighthouse or drive through the sand and visit the pyramids. Race under water or in space, watching the stars passing by. Have some rest under the palms on the beach (watching the other karts overtaking you :) ). But don’t fall into the volcano.

You can do a single race against other karts, compete in one of several Grand Prix, or try to beat the high score in time trials on your own.

3. Tux Paint

Tux Paint is a free, award-winning drawing program for children ages 3 to 12 (for example, preschool and K-6 in the US, key stages 1 & 2 in the UK). It combines an easy-to-use interface, fun sound effects, and an encouraging cartoon mascot who guides children as they use the program.

Kids are presented with a blank canvas and a variety of drawing tools to help them be creative.

4. Ri-li

Ri-li is an arcade game licensed under the GPL (General Public License). You drive a toy wood engine in many levels and you must collect all the coaches to win.You can dowload it and play indefinitely. It’s Free. You can play on ‘Linux’, ‘Mac OsX’, ‘Windows’, ‘AmigaOS4′

    OpenOffice 3 Beta Supports Office 2007 Format

    No money to buy software like Microsoft Office to do your work? Well there’s an other alternative way to do your office work. OpenOffice 3 Beta is an open source software which you can get it free on the net.

    What is so great about this OpenOffice?

    Well firstly, of cause it’s free! You don’t have to waste your money Microsoft office because OpenOffice 3 Beta now supports Microsoft Office 2007 format which means OpenOffice can read your Office 2007 documents.

    OpenOffice have just released the first public beta of OpenOffice 3, a Microsoft Office like suite of programs that works across all platforms.

    While the current beta of OpenOffice 3 doesn’t support PDF editing yet, it does include lot of new feature including the ability to read and edit Microsoft Office 2007 files formats.

    OpenOffice.org has also said that PDF editing features will become available soon via a PDF Import extension that’s currently under development.

    Top 10 Open Source Software for Windows

    I’ve been using Open Source software quite long since they are quite good and available for free. So I do not need to find any crack for the softwares. I think it is good, once in a while to expose Windows user on what Open Source Software(commonly used in Linux) could offer them on alternative software to the proprietary ones for daily computer usage.
